Skin Art Temporary Tattoos

Skin Art Temporary Tattoos

I have been desperate for a tattoo for years! I set my mind on getting one about 5 years ago and I still haven't decided on what to get!

So when I was wondering around Boots, aimlessly looking at what I could buy, (because I confess to being one of these 'I must not go home without anything' kind of shoppers! I am a shopaholic I admit it!) I found these little temporary tattoos!

They were £7.99 and in a set you get 3 sheets of tattoos.

There are a few different kinds of design packs you can buy, I went for In Your Own Words.

The tattoos are really sweet and I think they look very girly and feminine! They are all quotes which on them the text is very girly and they don't look too overpowering as they are quite dainty.

The 3 sheets consist of 2 sheets with a mixture of quotes on, and the 3rd sheet is just lettering so you are able to create your own words.

To apply the tattoos all you need to do is cut out the tattoo which you would like to appy, peel off the protective covering and place on you desired area. Then you need to dampen the back of the tattoo with water for the recommended time of 60 seconds. Once you have done this you can carefully remove the backing and your tattoo will be on your skin!

Quick, Easy and PAINLESS!!

The tattoo looks pretty real, if you inspect the tattoo you can see a slight transfer line around the edge, but nobody noticed mine, and I had a few comments as to if I had just got a new tattoo!

The tattoo lasted on my finger 2 days, I think because it was on my finger it was in an area where it was easily damaged as I use creams and water alot, however the tattoo on my foot lasted 4 days before it started to look messy and I needed to remove it.

You can purchase these tattoos from Boots:
http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Brands-A-to-Z/Skin-Art/?cm_mmc_o=-uubkbzfwlCjCKww5kbELCjCvi%20i9%20niioCjCC

If you are looking for a quick fix and something to jazz up your skin which is pretty and girly then give them a try! For £7.99 the tattoos will last you a while, unless you decide you need to be covered in them straight away!

Andrea Fulerton Peel Off Nail Varnish

Hey Sparklers!

So last week I was in Superdrug and happened to spot this:

It is Andrea Fullerton, Nail Boutique Peel Off Nail Varnish! I spotted a beautiful purple colour which is shade 'Helen' and I was intreegued as to how the peel off nail varnish worked, and how long it lasted. I had some peel off nail varnish before when I was about 5 years old and I always remember it being awful!

So here is the colour I picked:

I love purple colours and I think they look amazing on short nails. The directions of the nail varnish is to use 2 think coats and you should get two days wear out of it.

Here is my nail with the first coat. As you can see it has covered my nail well, but that second coat will define the colour and give me that amazing purple which I want.

So I added the second coat to my nails and they look amazing, I love the colour and the shine from the nail varnish is amazing. It looks like a very expensive nail varnish, and it is very glossy.

They drying time for this varnish is pretty quick, and so far I love it!

The nail varnish lasted 2 days and didn't chip, I removed it after 2 days as I was applying acrylic extensions so I am unsure as to how long it would last.

As for the peel off effect, I managed to get half of my nails peeled off, however I still felt like I needed to use nail varnish remover, so that was a bit of a disappointment.

The nail varnish states that it is 'a more or a more natural alternative for pregnant and younger fashionistas because it’s solvent free!'

If your looking for a glossy nail varnish then this a good choice, it was only £2.49 and can be bought from here:

Overall for the price of the nail varnish it is cheap and cheerful, I did love the colour but if you are wanting to peel it off your nails then you will have to apply very thick.

Glossy Box Inspection

Hey Sparklers!

I have heard a few of my clients mention Glossy Box to me and I had no idea what these were! So I decided to investigate a few months ago and see what all the fuss was about.

For anyone who doesn't know what glossy box is it is a subscription for £10.00 a month, plus postage and packaging, which you can subscribe for one month, or as an ongoing subscription, and for that £10 you receive a lovely little box which is filled with beauty miniatures depending on your specific profile!

To sign up for this you need to go to the website http://www.glossybox.co.uk/

After hearing people talk about them I decided to sign up and see what kind of products I would receive.

When signing up you have to fill in a few details about yourself, your credit/debit card details, I paid via paypal, and then complete your profile to tell glossy box what kind of products you would like to receive!

The form is pretty easy to fill out, and asks you specifics such as your skin colouring, hair colour and if you would like beauty or hair products, this is so that glossy box can send you out the correct colouring products.

Over the past few months I have recieved some good products and as of yet I haven't cancelled my subscription. Some products I have recieved I have ended up buying the larger product because I have loved them that much, and some of the other minitures which I decided that I wouldn't use I have kept and used for extra birthday presents for people, or prizes for beauty competitions.

So last week I recieved my June Glossy Box, Take a Look!

The products I received are as followed:

Glossybox Serie Exclusiv Pro Beauty Brush RRP £15.00
HD Brows Percision Tweezers RRP £19.95
BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer RRP £8.00
Paul Mitchell, The Conditioner RRP £12.25
Vichy, Dermablend Ultra-Corrective Foundation Cream RRP £19.00

Overall my products in my beauty box would be worth £74.20, so for the minitures I recieved I think that this is well worth it, as I have recieved a full size beauty brush, and HD Brows Tweezers!

Glossybox Serie Exclusiv Pro Beauty Brush & BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer

The Glossy box Beauty Brush I used to test out my BM Beauty Summer Bronzer. The brush is very lightweight and very soft. It is not as big as a bronzer brush I would normally use, I think I will use this brush for my blusher from now on as it is more suited for that use. For the retail price I wouldn't of bought this brush at full price as I dont think it is worth £15, however as I have received it in my Glossy Box it will add nicely to my brush collection.

The Summer Warmth Bronzer is very shimmery and golden which I love! It will go lovely on golden tanned skin, and I even think I may have to use it as a shimmer dust for my eyes!

The picture above doesn't do the bronzer justice, it is very shimmery and pretty! I will defo be considering buying this product!

HD Brows Percision Tweezers

I am loving HD Brows at the moment! I am currently looking to do a course to be able to treat my clients to HD Brows so recieving these tweezers has spured me on to get my course booked!

For £19.95 they are expensive for tweezers, but they are very good quality, and have very good grip!

If you want a good pair of tweezers and are willing to pay nearly £20.00 for them then I would suggest you buy these!

Paul Mitchell, The Conditioner

I had my doubts about this product as I have used a few 'leave in conditioners' before and I have always found that they made my hair really greasy.

I contemplated keeping this product as spares to use as my beauty prizes but the more I thought about it the more I thought I would give it a go!

So I washed my hair as directed and applied The Conditioner to my damp hair, and left it to dry naturally over night. I woke up the next morning praying that I didn't have to get up and wash my hair again and I have to I was very suprised at the results! My hair was really soft and smooth!!

I am over the moon with this product and really impressed as I have always had bad experiences with these types of products, so this has completely changed my views!

I wore my hair down at work and I had a few comments on how shiny my hair was, and one of my colleagues actually touched my hair and commented on how soft it was, so I definantly think that this product is worth a buy!

If you have had trouble before with conditioners then give this one a go as it certainly worked for me!

When I have looked on the Paul Mitchell website to investigate more on this product, the description also states that the product
"Doubles as an excellent moisturizer for skin"

Tesco's Mini Haul

Hey Sparklers!!

I had a trip to Tescos food shopping earlier on in the week, and being a typical make up lover I got totally distracted by the make up and ended up buying a few little items which caught my eye!

Here are the items which caught my eye!

Cosmopolitan Beauty Blender  £6.00
Rimmel Day2Night 2 in 1 Mascara £7.99
Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lip Tint  £5.99
Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lip Tint £5.99 ( 3 for 2 on rimmel products)
Eylure Lashes £3.46

Cosmopolitan Beauty Blender

So I have heard a few reviews about these beauty blenders but I've never used one myself, I find that blending with my fingers works best for me, doubled up with my foundation brush, but I thought I would give it ago and see what they're like!

I've used the beauty blender before I took the pictures so thats why its covered in make up!

I paid £6.00 for the beauty blender and it comes with a little stand which keeps the dust off and stops you getting make up all over the top of your draws/make up station.

The beauty blender has 2 ends, a flat side and a pointy side, this makes it easier if you are blending under eye concealer.

Overall the beauty blender blends in really well, I was suprised at its results. I think if you are into contouring your face with different shades of concealers and foundation then this is a brilliant tool and is a must buy!

For an everyday look I dont contour my face as much as I would as if I was going on a night out, but I think for my under eye concealer I will be using the beauty blender to help me get rid of my under eye bags!!

Rimmel Day2Night 2 in 1 Mascara

Mascaras never seem to do enough for me and I find it really hard to find a mascara which I feel does what I need it to do so I am forever buying new kinds of mascaras to try them out, so here is another buy of mine.

This Day2Night Mascara is a 2 in 1 Mascara which has two types of brushes and it claims that 1 is to volumise, the other to lengthen, which are two thing that every girl needs on her lashes whether she is blessed with amazing thick and long lashes,or if you are like myself with stumpy lashes!

The two in one brush was good, and the mascara went on even with the length brush, however I found that the volume brush made my lashes go a little bit clumpy.

Overall I think that the mascara lengthened my lashes but not a great deal, I think I will be sticking to false lashes!

Rimmel Lip Tint

I bought 2 of the Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lip Tint as it was buy 2 rimmel products, and get the 3rd free!

The colours I bought were:
700 - Nothing but Nude

100 - Endless Blossom

I liked the idea of the lip tint as I like to wear long lasting lipstick/gloss when I am at work and don't have time to reapply, so I thought I would give this ago and see if it really lasted for 1000 kisses! Or 1000 mins as I unfortunantly I'm not lucky enough to get 1000 kisses in a day!

The tint is in a felt tip pen style applicator which is easy to apply, just like drawing on your lips!

And on the other end of the product there is a lip balm which goes over the tint once on your lips to give it that all important shine to make them look kissable!!

So here are my lips before applying the lip tint!

As you can see my lips are very small so I need a product that enhances them a little and gives them a nice colour to stand out.

Here is the bottom lip with tint, top without

Here is the overall finish to the Lip Tint, without balm.

And the finished result with Balm.

I left this product on all day to see how long it lasted, the colour lasted for a few hours, but because I personally like to have defined colour on my lips I found myself reapplying the colour after 2 hours.

If you are wanting a slight colour and sheen then this is a prefect product for you! But if you are like me and like a deep colour on you lips which lasts a long time then you will need to keep applying a few coats every couple of hours with this product.

Newspaper Nail Art!

Hey Sparklers!

I love nail varnish and nail art which if you have read my previous blog you will know that I have millions of nail varnish products!

I am always looking for new things to do with my nails and new designs and I have come across newspaper nail art!!

I think this look is AMAZING!! and it is so simple to do!

What you will need:
Base Coat Polish
Chosen Nail Polish
Top Coat Polish
Surgical Spirit
Newspaper Clippings

First base coat your nails with a clear base coat so that you protect your nails from the polish.

Then paint your nails your chosen colour, be careful what colour you choose as some colours may be too dark for the newspaper to be visible. I have gone with the green and pink which was already on my nails.

Make sure that your nails are completely dry before you try to transfer the newspaper onto them otherwise this wont work!!

Next you will need some surgical spirit to dip your nails into, this is what will transfer the newspaper print onto your nails.

Pour some into a small container and dip your nail into it for roughly 5/6 seconds

Next take the piece of newspaper and press it onto your nail for about 15/20 seconds, then peal it off and the print should be on your nails.

You will need to apply a top coat to your nails now so that the print doesn't come off and you can clean up any print which is on your skin by using nail varnish remover and a cotton bud.

And thats it!!! How easy!!

This design took me all of 15 mins to do! I had already painted my nails so I was just jazzing them up, but even if you need to paint your nails this is still an amazing technique and so easy and quick to do!!

Try it out sparklers and let me know!! Send me some pictures on twitter @pretty_pink_s

Primark £1 Nail Varnish!

Hey sparklers!

So I am totally in love with nail varnish! I buy millions of colours and millions of different types!

My ultimate fave brand has got to be nails inc! It's a little bit pricey for everyday nail varnish but I just love the colours and the texture of them all!

Anyway it was my birthday a few months ago and my Bestie knowing how much I love nail varnish got me a few bits! She picked up a set of nail varnish from Primark for £1 and told me she had to buy it because she loved the colours, and I have to agree!!

The colours are so pretty and summer season colours!!

The Nail polish is in a small bottle, but there are 4 in the pack for £1 so I dont think you can go wrong with that!!

I wasn't expecting much with it being cheap nail varnish as I have used cheap nail varnish before and the coverage isn't great but I decided that I would try it out and see what it was like.

I decided that I would try out all the colours today as I couldn't wait to see what they all looked like!!

I have stick on nails on at the moment from tescos as my nails have snapped and I am in desperate need of a manicure! The nails I have got on at the moment have a french manicured look to them so I thought it might take a few coats of polish to cover it, which it did.
Above you can see the first coat of the green!

I totally love this colour! It reminds me so much of summer! I'm normally not a green person at all but this colour is just amazing! Its so pretty!!

I tried the light pink on my other nails and decided to go for mix and match nails today!
As you can see the nail varnish needs a few coats which is a bit of a pain and it increases the drying time.

Here is the final look!

I love the colours of these two nail varnishes, I tried the other pink and blue but I decided against them as I love the pastel colour of these two.

Here is the blue which I tried out, its pretty but I loved the pink and green so much more!!

Overall for £1 this nail varnish is pretty good, Its to be expected that it isnt great quality, however if you apply a few coats it turns out to be a great little buy! Just make sure you spend the time to dry your nails properly once you have applied your second and third coats, otherwise you will have sloppy nails which every girl knows is a total no no!!

Lots of Love,
